Basketball Play Designer by WheelBarrow Software will allow the recreational basketball player to create all types of customized plays to help you win!

     a. Downloading: When you attempt to download the file, make sure when prompted, that you save the file vs. opening it from the location.  Once you have saved it, you can then double-click the file to install the designer.

     b. Installation: After you download the file, you will double click it to install the software.  Follow the instructions and when you are going to utilize the application for the first time, please copy your serial number from your receipt into the prompt including the dashes.  For example:
                      BASKET1888-103G-G3DK-4444-8568-5123
This will be the only time you will need to provide the application with the serial number unless you are going to reinstall the application.

The protection on the application allows us to keep our prices down, and pass them on to you so that the program cannot be easily shared.  These serial numbers are registered on a central server.  We do not share our customers information.  Please read our privacy policy if you have any further questions.

II. Basketball Play Designer Works with Sequences

Drawing basketball plays involved multiple movements of the ball. We call these sequences. Each play can contain up to 10 sequences. At the end of each sequence you can choose what player gets the ball. You can have the ball be passed off or held by the original holder of the ball at the beginning of the sequence.

III. Right Click on the Main Screen for the Following Options:

When you add a sequence, the player that ends the last sequence with the ball, will automatically be marked with the ball at the beginning.  Once you have a sequence that contains a player with a ball at the start and end of the sequence, a thin yellow line will be automatically drawn to identify the path of the ball.  The line will be a dotted line to represent the dribbling player.

D) Mark this Player with the Ball at Sequence End
This will mark the person to have the ball at the end of the sequence. This player will get the ball passed to them if in fact they didn’t have the ball at the beginning. When you add a sequence, the player that ends the last sequence with the ball, will automatically be marked with the ball at the beginning.  Once you have a sequence that contains a player with a ball at the start and end of the sequence, a thin yellow line will be automatically drawn to identify the path of the ball. A line from the end of line of the player with the ball will be drawn to the player marked as the player holding the ball a the end of the sequence.

Simply save your play as a picture (File -> Save as Picture) and in Word go to (Insert -> Picture -> From File), select your picture and continue until all the plays you want are inserted into your playbook.  You can now add text and logos to create a unique look.

X. Troubleshooting:

Q: Can I create any type of formation/play that I can think of?
A: Yes! Play Designer by WheelBarrow Software will allow you to create any type of play you can think of. We are going to continue to add new types of routes and arrows so that you can represent your creativity in many different ways.

Q: How can I print my plays?
A: Many people would like to add a description and notations to their plays. Sometimes just having a diagram doesn't serve the whole purpose to those looking at the play. Therefore, we have put in an option to save the play as a picture.

If you have a play with multiple sequences, simply switch from sequence to sequence and save each sequence to a picture.

This picture can be converted into all file types, and can be insert into a Microsoft Word document. This document, with many different plays can serve as a playbook. From inside Microsoft Word, or any other application that can take in pictures, you can print your plays.

Q: Why Can't the Screen Be Increased or Maximized?
A: We get this question a lot.  Because of the above Question (about printing) we like to keep the size of the screen to a level where the user can insert the pictures easily into a word processing document.  Also, our background graphics look best at that width & height.

Q: If I have on version on my PC, can I install another without uninstalling?

A: Yup!  We have created the applications as completely separate entities.  You can have all Football Play Designers on the same computer at the same time.  However, the associations for all your play files will now open in the most recently installed program.

Q: Can I view my plays on a Pocket PC or Palm Pilot?
A: Yes.  Although we do not make software for these devices, each Play Designer comes with the ability to save your play to a picture.  Most Palms of Pocket PC devices come with software to view pictures.  Simply take the picture files into your palm (you can convert them to jpg to save space) and you can view them and utilize your Palm or Pocket PC for practices or games.
