VIII. Troubleshooting:
Q:
Can I create any type of formation/ play that I can think of?
A: Yes! Football Play Designer by WheelBarrow Software will allow you to
create any type of play you can think of. We are going to continue
to add new types of routes and arrows so that you can represent your creativity
in many different ways.
Q:
How can I print my plays?
A: Many people would like to add a description and notations to their plays.
Sometimes just having a diagram doesn't serve the whole purpose to those looking
at the play. Therefore, we have put in an option to save the play as a
picture. This picture can be converted into all file types, and can be
insert into a Microsoft
Word document. This document, with many different plays can serve as a
playbook. From inside Microsoft Word, or any other application that can
take in pictures, you can print your plays. Simply save your
play as a picture (File -> Save as Picture) and in Word go to
(Insert -> Picture -> From File), select your picture and continue until
all the plays you want are inserted into your playbook. You can now add
text and logos to create a unique look.
Q: Why Can't the Screen Be Increased or Maximized?
A: We get this question a lot. Because of the above Question
(about printing) we like to keep the size of the screen to a level where the
user can insert the pictures easily into a word processing document. Also,
our background graphics look best at that width & height.
Q:
Can I represent any position having multiple looks?
( A primary and a secondary target)
A: From within the application, there is no way to place two passes on one
QB. However, in order to solve this problem, simple insert two QB's on the
screen. Label them accordingly (Primary Pass QB, Secondary Pass QB) and
draw the passing lines.
Upon animation, both of the balls will be thrown, but the labels will enable
your audience to determine where the primary and secondary routes are.
Q:
Are my Old Version 0.9/ 2003 Files Compatible with the New 2004 Release?
A: Yes and any new
functionality in Version 2 can be added to these older files.
Q:
How can I represent a player having a primary route and a route incase of blitz,
etc?
A: Very easy! Simply add two positions to the screen instead of
one. Put the primary route on one and the "hot" route on the
other and place them directly on-top or overlapping one another. An
overlap will instantly make your team realize that this is a route that has a
secondary option.
Q:
If I have on version on my PC, can I install another without uninstalling?
A: Yup! We have created the applications as completely separate entities. You
can have all Football Play Designers on the same computer at the
same time. However, the associations for all your play files will now open
in the most recently installed program.
Q:
Can I view my plays on a Pocket PC or Palm Pilot?
A: Yes. Although we do not make software for these devices, each Play
Designer comes with the ability to save your play to a picture. Most Palms
of Pocket PC devices come with software to view pictures. Simply take the
picture files into your palm (you can convert them to jpg to save space) and you
can view them and utilize your Palm or Pocket PC for practices or games.
